05/24 02:51 CDT Servia, team preparing for final race of 2013
Servia, team preparing for final race of 2013 By MICHAEL MAROT AP Sports Writer INDIANAPOLIS (AP) -- Oriol Servia is doing everything possible to keep racing in 2013. He's strung together back-to-back finishes of sixth and fourth, and he'll start from the No. 13 spot Sunday in the Indianapolis 500. He's taking his sales pitch for sponsorship public, and he's even spoken to other teams about a new job. But unless he wins Sunday, it may not be enough. Servia's team owner, Dennis Reinbold, announced last month that the team would fold after this weekend's race because of a lack of sponsorship. So far, nothing has changed for the team or Servia, who is off to a quick start and comes to the 2.5-mile oval eighth in points. It's turned the season's biggest race into something even more for this team - a battle for survival. |
