Rock Valley Hay Auction for Thursday, April 10, 2014

Receipts:  100 loads    Last Week:  63 loads    Last Year:  31 

Compared to last week:  Alfalfa mostly steady to 5.00 lower. Grass hay moved 
generally steady. Straw and cornstalk bales traded mostly steady. Supply 
consisted mostly of Good and Fair quality. Demand was moderate for heavy 
offerings.  This weeks offerings consisted of 33% Alfalfa; 32% Grass; 35% 
Mixed Hay, Straw and Cornstalks.  All prices dollars per ton, except where 
noted.  All sales FOB Rock Valley, Iowa, vicinity.
 
One load Small Squares equals approximately 5 tons; Large Squares and Large 
Rounds range from 10-25 tons per load.

   Alfalfa:  Supreme:  Large Squares, 1 load 200.00. Premium:  Large Rounds, 
2 loads 147.50-150.00. Good:  Large Squares, 3 loads 120.00-135.00; Large 
Rounds, 12 loads 115.00-140.00. Fair:  Large Squares, 4 load 105.00-115.00; 
Large Rounds, 6 loads 100.00-105.00. Utility:  Large Rounds, 4 loads 80.00-
97.50.

   Grass:  Premium:  Small Squares, 1.75 tons 195.00; Large Squares, 1 load 
145.00; Large Rounds, 1 load 135.00. Good:  Small Squares, 1.5 tons 135.00; 
Large Squares, 2 loads 125.00-135.00; Large Rounds, 8 loads 110.00-125.00.  
Fair:  Small Squares, 4.5 tons 105.00; Large Squares, 2 loads 92.50-100.00;
