Washington-Oregon (Columbia Basin) Weekly Hay Report
Tons: 6715 Last Week: 555 Last Year: 6680
Compared to last week, Premium and Supreme new crop Alfalfa steady. Trade
remains slow to moderate with light to moderate demand. There was an increase
in
new crop Alfalfa being reported this week as the new season in underway. Export
hay
not tested. Retail/Feedstore steady in a light test. Trade light to moderate
with
good demand. All prices are dollars per ton and FOB unless otherwise stated.
The
quantity of hay stored on farms, sold or unsold in Washington was reported to
be
180,000 tons on May 1, down 22 percent from 2012 and down 49 percent from 2011.
