Meat Futures Ready for Mixed Opening

Look for the lean hog pit to begin with uneven price action thanks to a
combination of follow-through buying and profit taking. Similarly, expect
contracts in the cattle complex to open on a mixed basis as traders position
ahead of late-week cash and Friday's April 1 on feed report.

GENERAL COMMENTS:

Cattle buying interest could flesh out further this morning with possible
business developing here and there. Yet significant trade volume seems more
likely to be delayed until sometime Friday. Asking prices should be restated
around $148 in the South and $238-plus in the North. Live and feeder futures
are likely to open cautiously mixed as traders begin to position ahead of
late-week cash biz and Friday's release of the monthly on feed report.
